About Chicago (IL) Alumni Chapter

 

The Chicago Alumni Chapter (CAC) was chartered as the first Alumni Chapter in the Fraternity’s history, on April 17, 1919.

Founder Byron K. Armstrong and Past Grand Polemarch Earl B. Dickerson were prime movers in establishing the Chicago Alumni Chapter. Brothers C. Leon Wilson, Hale C. Parker, William J. Prince, Thomas Mayo, George C. Ellis and Troy Smith worked closely with Armstrong and Dickerson. Founder Ezra D. Alexander, Founder Paul W. Caine and Founder Edward G. Irvin were also members of Chicago Alumni.
 

CAC has hosted 6 Grand Chapter & 4 North Central Province Meetings. 7 Past Grand Polemarchs & 5 North Central Province Polemarchs hail from CAC.

 

 

Chicago Alumni members also serve as Advisors to Undergraduate Chapters in the Chicago Metropolitan area including: The Kappa Phi (University of Illinois at Chicago), The Epsilon Omicron (Northern Illinois University) and The Zeta Mu (Western Illinois University). Other Undergraduate Chapters Chicago Alumni has advised in the past include:

The Theta (Northwestern University), The Iota (University of
Chicago), The Alpha Rho (Lewis Institute/IIT) and The
Theta Zeta (Chicago State University).

A Brief History of Chicago (IL) Alumni Chapter

 

Grand Chapter Awards: 7 Laurel Wreath Awardees, 1 Elder Watson Diggs Laureate, 1 Guide Right Director of the Year and 1 William L. Crump Awardee
Chapter Awards: 4 NCP Paul W. Caine Alumni Chapter of the Year, 4 Jay Crosby Kappa League Program of
the Year Awards (Grand Chapter & NCP) and 4 Chapter  Reclamation Awards, in addition to various community service awards.

Chicago Alumni is active in annual community endeavors: Feeding elderly at Thanksgiving, Christmas Toy Drive, Partnership with Hull House/Emerge Program & PBS telethon volunteering, and providing college scholarships to name a few.
 

Chicago Alumni hosts a variety of social events throughout the year in addition to co-hosting events (Bud Billiken rade, Kappa Kruise & Metro Founders’ Day) with the Chicago Metro Chapters.

The Chicagoland area is abundant with members of ΚΑΨ. 10 Metro Chapters serve Chicagoland: Chicago, Chicago Heights, Evanston, Evergreen Park, Gary, Harvey-Markham, Joliet, Maywood-Wheaton, Richton Park and Waukegan.
